Today I realized that of the four relationships I’ve been in, I’ve never been broken up with.  I’ve always been the one doing the breaking.  And yet, somehow, I’m starting to think that the pain of breaking up with someone and later — when it’s too late — realizing it was a mistake is far greater than the pain that comes from simply being broken up with.
